In everything we do at Zimfest our mantra is diversity, our appreciation of everything Zimbabwean from Chimurenga to Mbube, to Mbaqanga to jazz and African jazz – Shosholoza to Skokian. Mzansi house (Which we started KoBulawayo, ask those who know) to that Rave the white kids partied to, Rock and roll to Indie to Soul. Zimbabwe’s music has always been diverse, has always been innovative and progressive. Our music has carried our struggle forward and it’s time for music to take it’s place again. Hell, music has never been lost to Zimbos, it is and has always been the crossroads for us. The meeting point of our diverse cultures.
