WEZIMBABWE
WE are an organisation dedicated to the empowerment of Zimbabweans through the development of a strong and united global Zimbabwean community and to the provision of access to formal education and non-formal life skills training for children and young people throughout Zimbabwe. Their main projects are helping Zimbabweans and friends of Zim run Zimfest worldwide and an A level Scholarship project piloted in Bulawayo in 2011. Other projects include a supplementary feeding programme with the Catholic Womens League at Engutsheni Mental Health Hospital For more details visit http://www.wezimbabwe.org
HOMES IN ZIMBABWE
Homes In Zimbabwe provides food to 28 residential homes. It runs a soup kitchen and supports SOAP (Save Our Aged People) in Harare and Bulawayo; a network of volunteers who deliver food parcels to elderly people struggling to survive in their own homes. In addition Homes In Zimbabwe also supplies fuel for stand-by generators at a number of residential homes, a vital resource with frequent power cuts. Boreholes driven by generators are often the only source of water available. Homes in Zimbabwe also provides essential items such as bedding, clothing and toiletries to those elderly people with no other means of purchasing these basic items. http://www.hiz.org.uk
VIC FALLS AND KARIBA ANTI POACHING UNITS
The Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of wildlife and its natural habitat. Situated in a National Park, the town of Victoria Falls is located in one of the most beautiful environments on earth. However with the beauty of the location comes some heavy burdens of human and animal conflicts. VFAPU tries to ease some of the burdens by protecting the wildlife and habitat from poachers (subsistence and commercial), as well rescue and rehabilitate animals injured by human interference. Additionally, we try to find employment for ex-poachers so that they have a sustainable income without doing harm to flora and fauna. Education is also important, and VFAPU and its partners try to reach children at an early age through school and community awareness programs. http://www.vfapu.org
